The Process- Documentation Begins

So now that we’re approaching a year of trying to get pregnant, I thought I should start documenting. Mostly to help me process. Sometimes, I float through life passively which gives the impression I’m doing well. I even fool myself most of the time. However, when “floating” I’m also not trusting God for anything nor am I embracing my hopes, without hope my heart is hard and bitter. Last July (2009) Nathan and I took our dream trip to Italy. The big question was start “trying” before we went on the trip or just wait until after, due to fear that I’d be sick and miserable on this dream vacation. HA! What a joke. Little did we know that almost a year later there would still be no baby. I also didn’t know that I could face one of my biggest fears and “be ok” with God’s grace. To say He’s taught me a lot is a serious understatement. We did decide to “try” in June 2009, then July, then August, then…until November 2009 when I made an appointment to see my GYN.
*November 2009 we began going in for sonograms to check my follicles every month.
*January 2010 we discovered I’m not ovulating on my own so we started Metphormin (1/18/10). Really tired, really anxious. pretty depressed from medicine.
*February no sonogram just letting medicine get in system.
*March – sonogram reveals follicles are about the same size (on the small size). Get first shot to trigger ovulation. Blood work on Monday (3/22/10) confirms shot did work and I did indeed ovulate, first time in the process.
*April 15 another sonogram (no follicle improvement, but length of cycle shortens by 6 days) and 2nd ovulation trigger shot.
*April 28- negative pregnancy test and consider getting off medicine.
*May 4, 2010- decide to take a break from medicine/doctor as I am going insane on meds. Nathan strongly concurs. :)
